Sustainability Objectives

Our vision at Meetini is to lead the way in making the bar industry more sustainable and convenient, giving customers a way to enjoy themselves wherever they are without harming the environment. We want to change the way people drink, giving them the power to socialise when and where they want and the tools to do so sustainably. Our mission is to:

  • Put sustainability and the environment at the forefront of our business decisions
  • Stay innovative and flexible, responding to customer needs
  • Create an environment of fun and inclusivity for both employees and customers

We believe we have a unique opportunity to become the first zero-waste and carbon-neutral cocktail company in London. Addressing climate change and other environmental causes is increasingly important. While we hope that legislation and governments will move towards more environmentally friendly policy-making, we feel it is just as vital to prove that businesses in the hospitality sector can be sustainable, and to inspire other companies to follow suit.

One of the key ways we hope to do this is by becoming a zero-waste company. This means more than just using recyclable packing and products, as high proportions of recyclable waste are still incinerated or sent abroad to become someone else’s problem. We aim to buy all our ingredients without plastic packaging, for example in glass containers which are reusable, and to source organic products wherever possible. The cups we sell our cocktails in are fully compostable or else reusable, and we encourage our customers to purchase our reusable cups or bring their own by offering discounts on our drinks.

We are committed to following sustainable working practices:

  • Cups at events and markets are compostable or edible
  • Straws provided are made of wheat
  • Bottled cocktails are sold in reusable glass bottles (similar to a reusable water bottle) and reusable jars
  • Cocktails bikes are electric powered
  • We are partnering with XEROE to use their zero-emission bike delivery service for next day deliveries across London and Bristol
  • Coffee grinding waste is donated to local farms
  • Using our own soda makers and ice makers to ensure we minimise our plastic use
  • Distill Vodka, Gin and liqueurs in-house
  • Sourcing organic ingredients and alcohol wherever possible
  • Cleaning to be carried out using eco-products and using tree-free paper and reusable cloths only
  • Using 12V solar energy solutions to power lights and small appliances.
  • Using rainwater collection and filtration solutions for the water needed in gardening and cleaning
  • Distilling and cooking on bio-ethanol fuelled stoves
  • Growing herbs at our own indoor vertical farms
  • Supporting charitable projects by donating >2% of yearly revenue = equivalent of 300 pro-bono hours. More information about our US registered public charity partner Geoparadise Inc. at their website geoparadise.org

Over shorter distances our cocktail bikes are operated purely under manpower or assisted by electric batteries, and our bikes will have their own solar panels to enable them to be charged while they work. For longer journeys we are looking to invest in electric vehicles to minimise carbon emissions. We also plan to donate a percentage of our profits to charities which protect UK habitats and prevent deforestation around the world.
